the Process, the Style, the Passion

When preparing the process for these large originals I use custom aluminum panels, developing an eggshell tooth finish for just the perfect texture.
Under-painted in Canada red, the pictures emerge in bold bright colors, I break the colors apart only to blend together with an interwoven lace of the same Canadian hue until they dance in harmony.
The color palette is pushed and pulled in tones until you can walk into the depths of the space. The layout and sketches are designed inside divine proportions giving the images a balance that dates back all the way to the Renaissance.
Growing up on the edge of Algonquin Park with vivid memories of childhood family trips across Canada I was fortunate to become a guide on the voyager routes of the Mattawa / Ottawa River system as a teenager.   The appreciation in paddling silently through the landscapes flows from the mind through the paint as I re-document my adventures on these extra large Monumental Landscapes.
